Our Current Engines

James Gordon - purchased in 2001, this Steam Outline Diesel Locomotive was named after the AVRC Chairman, James Gordon who since the inception of the modern Alford railway, has contributed so much and devoted his life to the the continued presence of the railway and the promotion of Alford as a tourist attraction.

The Bra´ Lass - Simplex Diesel Locomotive (0-4-0 with 20/28hp Dorman engine) originally purchased from Severn Water Board, now with rennovated engine. Acts as reserve engine for James Gordon.

The Wee Gordon Highlander - again, a Simplex Diesel Locomotive, also purchased from Severn Water Board. The engine is currently being restored for use during 2010 season.
