Each year, Santa Special trains are run on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the first two weekends in December.
Fridays are reserved for Bookings, eg. Pre-school and School parties. Please book early to avoid disappointment.
Saturdays and Sundays are not bookable, however, if you do have a large group or require special needs, please contact us in advance so that we can endeavour to meet your requirements.
The Service includes a train trip to Haughton Park. On your return, after making your way to the Waiting Room, you will receive welcome refreshments (tea or coffee and mincemeat pies, with juice and biscuits for the children), before the moving on to visit Santa, where each child receives a gift.
Trains run, every half-hour, from 10.00am to 4.00pm. The last train departs Alford Station at 3.30pm
Ticket Costs remain the same as 2009.

Our Santa Specials are exceptionally good value for money because they are focussed on creating a magical Christmas experience for everyone, but especially the children, with music on and off the train, and gift stalls.
Our Santa Specials have been very successful for many years and this is due entirely to the many local volunteers, including Association members, Guides, Scouts, who work so hard to make this event, the highlight of our year. The AVR Company is extremely grateful for their continued help, but more importantly, it is grateful for YOUR support. We look forward to meeting you in December!
